Wee Family Farm aims to build a community through collaborative farming, and is actively seeking new participants. If you are an aspiring farmer or homesteader looking to share land in northwest Oregon, please reach out.
Farmer Ann's goals:
Build cooperative relationships with like-minded farmers.
Empower an aspiring farmer with access to land
Feed our local community.
Increase farm diversity and production.
Support each other so we can have days off while confident our animals and crops are well tended in our absence.
The farm has room to expand both livestock and crop production. I am looking to connect with the right person to share the land. I have flexibility around how we structure our collaboration. An aspiring farmer or homesteader of any experience level is welcome to apply. If requested, I am happy to provide mentoring. It is okay for your farming aspirations to be at homestead scale - for personal self sufficiency, or a business scale - growing for market. I welcome increased diversity, welcome new farming enterprises or homesteading projects you might bring to the land.
About the farm:
Located in Yamhill County Oregon, about 50 miles southwest of Portland, on a gravel road halfway between the towns of McMinnville and Sheridan. The farm has pastures, a small orchard, barn, shop, 1905 farmhouse, a productive well, spring, and two creeks. My 10 acres is surrounded by forest and pasture with neighboring land owners allowing access for grazing and hiking. Starlink internet and on-grid power available.
Housing:
On-farm housing options include sharing the farmhouse, with a private bedroom (single or double occupancy) with shared kitchen and bath. Alternatively, the farm has a flat space to park a tiny home, RV, or yurt (with power and water hookup but no septic dump). I am willing to set up a wall tent or other detached bedroom after we create a strong connection. I am are not considering a "free rent for labor" or WWOOF type arrangement except as a short term trial period. A resident on the farm will be asked to pay a cash rent aligned with fair market value.
About Farmer Ann:
I’m a super foodie and love cooking. I'm a science-minded female farmer. Politically left-leaning. I care deeply about animal welfare and environmental stewardship. In the past I lived in an intentional community, and enjoyed shared living situations with spontaneous community. Professionally, I’ve worked in ag. education and farm management for 20+ years and co-founded the School of Adaptive Agriculture. I enjoy homesteading projects like baking from scratch, food preservation, cheese making, and natural building— happy to share those skills. I am straight but not narrow and proud to offer a safe and welcoming place for members of the LGBT community.
Timeline
For timeline, my goal is to build connection and explore our compatibility this winter. I'd like to start with a short-term visit, if possible, and begin sharing the land in spring or summer 2026, with the potential to grow into a multi-year collaboration. I’m not offering salaried employment. Not selling the land.
Invisible Structure
To support our successful partnership I would like us to jointly create clear and equitable agreements tailored to our unique collaboration. I am open to various arrangements for how we work on the land, such as a profit-sharing agreement, co-grazing lease, or simply self-sufficiency without a marketing goal.
