Ann is passionate about environmental stewardship and animal welfare. She is a foodie, a science nerd, and drawn to old time homestead skills. Her experience includes design-build on her off-grid natural home, milking dairy sheep, cheese making, canning, maple syrup tapping, sourdough baking, soap making fiber arts, and more. Ann’s professional journey includes teaching college level agriculture classes, leading interns on educational farms, developing K-12 school gardens, and crew leadership on diverse for-profit organic and bio-dynamic farms. She presented at the OSU Small Farms conference on pasture management and grazing practices.
On Wee Family Farm Ann collaborated with university researchers on cover crop and forage trails. In Mendocino County, California Ann co-founded the School of Adaptive Agriculture (formally Grange Farm School). Through the World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF), Ann traveled though New Zealand and hosted for many years is USA. Multiple grants have been awarded to Ann including those related to silvopasture, animal welfare focused farming, and native habitat restoration.
Committed to continuous learning, Ann has pursued further education in animal husbandry, permaculture design, gray water installation, natural building, intentional communities and more. In 2019, she realized her lifelong dream of farm ownership.
